Doma Hunting Concession
Alex Kirkman has recently attained the hunting rights in one of the most famous big game hunting concessions in Zimbabwe. Four hours north of Harare airport, Doma safari hunting area, is approx 94,000 hectares. It is set in the scenic, rolling hills of the Zambezi escarpment, a beautiful, wild and rugged area with river valleys and steep mountains. It is an advantage to be fairly fit and prepared for the long stalks in this hilly terrain. There are no inhabitants in this area making it a perfect haven for big game, including Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, hippo and crocodile. There is also very large sable here too. Accommodation is in tented camps with generated electricity, hot and cold running water, a central dining and lounge area, double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, laundry service and excellent food.
Muzarabani Hunting Concession In Muzarabani we have two hunting districts depending on which animals you wish to hunt. Muzarabani is two and a half hours north of Harare. The first district is also part of the long Zambesi escarpment, which is uninhabited. This stunning, hilly countryside full of tumbling streams holds an abundance of game. Hunting is done mainly on foot - hence the hunter should be of reasonable fitness. The other district is in the flatter Zambezi valley bordering Mozambique and Lake Cabora Bassa. It is populated with people and suffers from elephant crop damage. There are also plenty of crocodiles and large sable, with some plains game. Hunting by horseback is possible here and is a super way of hunting Elephant. There is a small charge for hiring the horse team. Accommodation is in typical African hunting lodges, brick and stone under thatch roofs. Rooms are en-suite but there is no electricity, but again you will have everything you need.
