Tahr hunting
in New Zealand is not for the faint hearted! TheTahr with it's striking
coat is found in the highest alpine region of the South Island.
Tahr
originated in the Himalayas and were brought to New Zealand in the
1800s, much like the
Chamois.

they are amazing mountaineers, requiring fit hunters with a steady nerve
to hunt them.
